Matrix retainers and clamps are dental instruments used during restorative dental procedures to aid in the placement and retention of dental matrices. A matrix is a thin strip of material (often made of metal or plastic) used to create a temporary wall around a tooth that has been prepared for a dental restoration.

Our Matrix Retainers

Our Matrix retainers are used to hold the matrix in place around the tooth while the dental restoration is being placed. Our  are typically made of metal and are designed to fit snugly around the tooth. There are different types of matrix retainers, including Tofflemire retainers, which are the most common type, and the more modern sectional matrix systems.

Our Clamps

Our Clamps are used to hold the matrix in place around the tooth and to prevent the matrix from slipping during the restoration procedure. Our are typically made of metal and are designed to fit around the tooth and the matrix. There are many different types of clamps, including winged clamps, which are the most common type, and cervical clamps, which are used to hold the matrix near the gumline.

Both matrix retainers and clamps are important tools in restorative dentistry, as they help to ensure that dental restorations are properly placed and secured. It is important for dentists and dental assistants to have a good understanding of how to use these instruments and to choose the appropriate type of matrix retainer and clamp for each individual case.
